Let’s be a Manager at Tsukada Nojo!

Rate : 9/10

OMG I’m so suapakau when I first came here! I thought I was a but late, but, better late than never right? I went to Tsukada Nojo for lunch at first, but the place hadn’t opened yet, so I went back the day after tomorrow for dinner.

I never know this place before and actually a man brought me out here for a lunch dinner date 😆 because I really love soup, like really lovee!!

We went there on Saturday and the place was really crowded. We had to wait for almost two hours, err okay, maybe because it was weekend. The impatient me was so curious about the taste of this famous beauty collagen hotpot.

Well, Tsukada Nojo is a Japanese restaurant specialty in beauty collagen stock. They are known for their Bijin Nabe (Beauty Collagen Hotpot).

Why is it called Beauty Pot?

Because you know, they said that drinking collagen soup will make you skin smooth and clean, makes you look beautiful, especially for the ladies. I bet lot of girls come here for this 😅

Taste : 9/10

The soup is stewed for about 8 hours until the chicken bones are fully dissolved. The soup looks like pudding, or I think it’s more similar to 豆花 at first, then we just need heat it to wait till it melt fully and turned to collagen soup. Soup is rich and chicken is tender. The combination of fresh seafoods and vegetables with the soup is superb nice. There are quite lots of things that you can put inside the soup; lady’s finger, yellow zucchini, watermelon radish, baby corn, yuzu, deep fried tofu, black fungus, mushrooms, fresh shrimps, deep fried tofu.

Service : 8/10

The serving staffs dressed in Kimono are all very nice and polite to us. They always assist us in cooking too.

After we finished eating, we were each handed a “business card” and asked to write our names on them. The card is given to customers and you are given a stamp with each dinner visit. First-timers will start from “Assistant Manager” level and will be “promoted” to the next management level on subsequent visit. So, don’t forget to bring your card every time you visit here. Plus, we will also be given a free dessert on each visit. How nice is it? 😋

Chinatown Medan – Asia Mega Mas

I’m pretty sure that almost every country in this world have “Chinatown”. Well Well.. My hometown Medan also have Chinatown leh!

So, the Chinatown Medan is located at Asia Mega Mas. Last time, this place was just housing area, but few years ago, this place has turned become a crazy crowded place, especially when weekends or holidays.

So, WHAT can you find here?

But first, it’s FOOD!

Oh yeah for you who don’t know, Medan is the second biggest city in Indonesia, located at North Sumatra and FYI, it’s very famous of the FOOD! Lots of people say that Medan is the heaven of culinary. Is it true? I let you say.

So back to Chinatown Medan, is that you can find a lot kinds of food here. Penang Kwetiao, Duck Beehon, Ayam Penyet, Sate Padang, Lok Lok, and many moreee.. And not just food, you can also find some stalls selling BKK dress, shoes, cosmetics, and some other stuffs.

What I don’t like about this place is : It’s too packed! As in, if you come on weekends, most of the times you will have difficulties to find a parking lot. And also a lot of cars / motorcycles pass by the road. So, sometimes it’s just very uncomfortable when you want to shop and at the same time, you need to watch out for the vehicles passing by. It’s nicer if they close the road for vehicles so that people will be comfortable to walk around. Just IMHO though.

You haven’t come to Medan? Oh you should! Say bye bye to your diet before coming here and make sure you visit Chinatown Medan at Asia Mega Mas. It opens from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Confuse about how you should travel in Medan? Don’t worry. Just drop me an e-mail to wongsofenny@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to help 😀

You came to Chinatown Medan before? Then what’s your favorite food here? You can share with me 🙂

Lady M again!

Location : Orchard Central, One Fullerton, Westgate, Singapore

Rate : 8.5 / 10

Yeah, I’m back to this place again! I wasn’t satisfy enough when I first visited that place coz I think the cakes were too creamy and sweet. Okay maybe that sounds like an excuse tho, haha I admit that I want to try their another cake :p

I’ve written a review about LadyM before, in case you want to take a look then here you go >> Lady M

So this time I visited Lady M on January 2nd, 2016. We were walking around Orchard when I decided to stop by Lady M at Orchard Central. Same as the first time I went there, the place was still very crowded. The Q was damn crazy. I decided to dabao (takeaway) and I still have to Q, but not as long as the one who wanted to eat there.

IMG_20160102_175151I was confused about choosing which cake should I order. I planned to have checker but my friend said tahat checker was “too common” for LadyM so I order the chocolate Mille Crêpes since I never tried it before.

So, after around 20 minutes Q, I finally got my cake for 9.65 SGD! (Don’t convert it to IDR please :’))

So, I may say that this is the best mille Crêpes I have tasted so far, and I think the chocolate one is still better than the green tea. (that’s also why I give higher rate on the chocolate mille Crêpes :p). You can taste the chocolate on every small bite of the cake. It’s sweet yes, but the chocolate flavor cover the sweetness so can’t really taste the sweet, it’s just all the chocolate!

IMG_20160102_180932I would recommend this chocolate Mille Crêpes as your GO, but if you’re a green tea or vanilla lover, then it’s not wrong to try them too!

(ps. I’m a vanilla lover and I still prefer the chocolate rather than the vanilla one)

So, what’s your favorite in LadyM?

Lady M – Singapore

Have you ever heard of Lady M? Most of dessert lovers will know about its famous Mille Crêpe cake. Its signature cake Lady M Mille Crêpes, features no less than twenty paper-thin handmade crêpes layered with ethereal light pastry cream, gently caramelized on top until golden. (ladym.com.sg)

A friend of mine recommended this place to me. He said that if I come to Singapore, this Lady M is a must try! So when I went there on October 2015, I decided to try the Mille Crêpe cake. My friend and I were walking along Marina Bay and accidentally found the LadyM store located in One Fullerton and decided to stop there. But sadly the signature cakes were finished, so my friend finally brought me to LadyM store located in Orchard Central Shopping Mall. When we arrived there, the q is so long and surely I couldn’t wait because it’s quite late, maybe around 8.30 p.m. if we joined the q, probably have to wait for one hour or more. That’s crazy! So I decided to do take away. If you want to eat there, you have to q at the second floor and if you want to do take away, you can go to the first floor (pls correct me if I’m wrong). Then I finally get my cakes! I decided to buy a piece of Vanilla Mille Crêpe cake and a piece of Green Tea Mille Crêpe cake since I couldn’t decide which one should I try and since my friend told me that both of those flavors are the most favorite in Lady M.

The cakes had lots of layers yes, that was only for the Crêpe one. But, after eating the cakes.. Sadly, the cakes weren’t as good as I thought. The cakes were too sweet and creamy, and also pricey! Haha the price was SGD 9.50 per piece so it’s around 95k in Rupiah! and I said it wasn’t worth it after I had tasted it. Sorry LadyM! BUT, the texture somehow was superb cos the cake was very soft and both the Crêpe and the cream could melt inside your mouth.

*sorry for the bad quality picture :’D

Vanilla or Green Tea Mille Crêpe tasted better?

Although I’m a Vanilla lover, but for this Mille Crêpe I have to choose Green Tea one cos the green tea smelled better. You can taste a very thick green tea on your tongue so I should recommend this taste rather than the vanilla one.

If you’re a fan of the sweet and creamy desserts, sure Lady M is the best choice for you! But if you’re not, I think it’s never wrong too wrong to try it at least once! LOL

If you plan to eat at the restaurant, you have to come earlier especially on weekends because if you don’t, most of the cakes will be finished and maybe you have to q for a long time just to eat there. Anyway, it’s also based on your luck. Some of my friends said that it’s better if you eat the cakes there rather than take away. So, good luck for you who wants to try the famous Lady M’s cakes and for you who’ve tried it, what’s your favorite flavor?
